So... I was right! LOL. The whole day was amazing; we went on a boat ride up the Cass River, and a carriage ride around Frankenmuth... we went shopping, and I felt like a tourist, even though I've lived here for almost a year
...then after dinner, the waitress brings this huge basket over with root beer and fudge and popcorn (it was awesome) and I'm looking at him like "WHAT are you doing?"
He asked for my promise ring back, and when I gave it to him, he asked if I remembered the promise he made to me then (that he would do anything to make a long distance relationship work and that he would love me no matter what).
He said "The day we met, I told you not to disappear on me, and you didn't... you never have."
At this point, he brings the ring out and sets it in front of me and says: "So my question to you is...
"...would you like to trade up?"
I've made fun of him since for the lapse in eloquence, and he says that there were so many things he wanted to say that he can't believe that's what came out. I can't say much, as I was crying by then and could barely manage a "yes."
We've changed the date to the 11th of December instead of the 18th, but I don't mind one bit.
