Extensions

Has anyone used or thinking about using temporary extensions for their wedding day?  I've never even colored my hair before so I am not willing to have extensions glued or fused or whatever they do to my hair, but I have heard there are decent ones out there that just clip in.  Where would be the best place to go to get these, Sallys?  If you have used them, do they feel secure all day?

I used a Jessica Simpson Hairdo piece & I thought it looked really nice. I got it on eBay (via rec from another knottie) for about half of what they're sold for in the stores. I went to Ulta first & matched the color I wanted.

Mine did not feel secure, but that's b/c mine was put in with bobby pins. If you use the clips provided in the hair piece, it feels much better.

After two hair trials and the Knot girls (MeghanAshley gave me some great info) continually telling me that I needed more hair for the styles I was trying to pull off, I jumped on the bandwagon and got temporary extensions.  They were awesome.  I wish I hadn't waited so long.  I bought them at Sally's.  I knew NOTHING about them and the sales lady helped me pick the right color and the ones that would work best.  My stylist told me that I needed real hair ones because synthetic hair wouldn't curl and my style was curly.  Get the ones with the clips already attached - took my stylist only a few minutes to put them in.  They just snapped in like barrettes and I didn't notice them AT ALL.  Of course I had bobby pins in my hair too so I couldn't really tell the difference.  I would say the clips are the equivalent of having bobby pins in your hair.  The extensions also held curl better than my real hair so they kept my style looking fresh for the whole night. My extensions didn't add length - just volume.  And now I'm trying to think of an excuse to wear them again - I LOVE having thick hair!

Hope this helps - sorry that I'm a rambler!

Just FYI I am getting my hair done for the wedding at Runway Salon in Shelby Twp. And they let you use their extensions for free that day and will put them in for you.

I wore a Jessica Simpson hair do piece as well - 23" curly extension. It felt secure all day long. I tired putting it on this morning and it was fairly easy to do myself. My advice is like an earlier poster which suggested getting it off eBay. You can save 40%-50% by doing that. I bought mine from my stylist because I was under the impression it was real hair, and her price was good for real hair...but after I took it out and read the materials, I learned that mine was synthetic.
    Kinda Regards, Erica

Thanks girls!  I will definitely be heading to Sally's to check out my options!
