Candy/Popcorn Bar

Hi Ladies,

We would like to do a Candy and Popcorn Bar at the reception. Have any of you done this?  Did your guests like it?  And most importantly, where did you get the supplies from?  We would liek to get personalized bags, or get bags in our colors and add labels to them.

Thanks!

  • We did a popcorn bar.  It was everyones favorite part! They are STILL talking about it!

I bought big beverage tubs from BB&B to put the popcorn in, and scoops online. I bought the popcorn from frankenmuth popcorn wagon.

I got the bags from detroit popcorn company. It turned out great!

Meijer is a great place for bulk candy and I know a lot of sites sell it "wholesale" which is just cheaper than retail...they arent really giving you a wholesale price because you need to have a tax ID to buy.

  • We did a popcorn bar and got the popcorn from Popcorn Wagon in Frankenmuth. I'm selling the bowls and scoops if you want them! (PM me)

It was a huge crowd pleaser - we also had appetizers during cocktail hour but I thought popcorn would be fun (especially for the kids).

And I've been to a few weddings with candy buffets - they're also a big hit.

  • Oh and we had personalized bags for our popcorn too!

  • Has anyone had their Popcorn Bar outside? I love this idea, but my venue is outdoors and I'm not sure about popcorn in open tubs if it gets stale or if bugs get in it. Any tips would be great :)

    Thank you so much!  Brooke

Hi! I make gourmet popcorn for a living and do this stuff all the time.  Heat and humidity will kill any candied popcorn really fast without a lid, so I would recomend to probably sticking with more savory flavors and definatly keep it under cover if you are going with any candied flavors:) <div>Veronica</div><div><a href="http://www.freedomsnacks.com" rel="nofollow">www.freedomsnacks.com</a></div>
