engagement picture locations

I am trying to find the perfect location for engagement pictures. Any ideas? I would like something that offers different backgrounds and options. I kind of want something woodsy, fountain, flowers etc. Please help! We live in the novi/west bloomfield area.

    I would go to Kensington Metro park.  You have a ton of options there with the 2 beaches, the docks, the walking trail...etc.  My photographer didn't want to travel that far for e-pics but that was my first choice.

    We did ours on Belle Isle in Detroit.  It had some very cool backdrops to give a varied look.

    I don't know if they will let you (I don't see why not, since it is before school is back in session) but Cranbrook Academy is GORGEOUS, their campus is absolutely breathtaking!

    We did ours at our wedding venue, Greenmead Village. It's a city park with historic buildings in Livonia, at the intersection of 8 Mile and Newburgh Rds. If you go to my bio link below, and click on photo tab, you can see our engagement pics taken there. They have a small pond, great old buildings, gardens. Really nice. Just make sure to check their calendar so you know if something is planned (they have events there sometimes, and weddings, LOL).

    I don't know if this is too far away, but we did ours in downtown Rochester.  All of the buildings are different colors, and they always have beautiful flowers around.  Honestly, your photographer can take great pictures where ever you go and don't forget to have fun! The engagement pics were one of my favorite things!
