Opinions on My Big Fat Beautiful Wedding?

Do any of you have opinions on My Big Fat Beautiful Wedding, a store owned by a woman named Janet that's based in Michigan?  I was thinking of getting my dress there called "Elena."  But I wanted to make sure I know what I am getting into!

I would post this on the Michigan board.  This is an International board - you should get much more insight on your local.  Hope things work out for you!

Thanks for your advice!  I posted on here because I heard about them from this very board a few months back, since Janet makes budget dresses for brides all over the country.  But it makes sense that Detroit girls should know about her store, too!

Here was a review from a knottie several months ago:
REALLY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND REALLY POOR QUALITY.

i should have known by the name BUT the owner seemed trustworthy. UNTIL i received my dress and the elastic loops were gray-ish blue and the hem was crooked. in addition to that the custom fit was 2.5 inches too big all over. to make matters worse THE DRESS WAS VERY VERY different than the original she promised me. and the dress i wanted was really really simple with no beads or anything.

i notified her within a few days of receiving it in the mail but she was not willing to help with the costs even though they were "manufacturer defects."

alterations just to make the dress fit and replace the discolored loops is $350! she wouldn't help AT ALL. even if she helped offset the costs of my alterations, the dress is still not the one she promised me.

so BE CAREFUL. i would highly recommend avoiding that shop at all costs.

Hey, don't know if this helps, but my sister-in-law went there to get her dress and I went with her. Janet was fantastic and spent 4 hours with her in the store trying on different dress styles, taking measurements, and showing her fabric samples. then she let me try on a few because I had driven 8 hours to be there and she didn't want it to be a waste of my time. She was really helpful and all of the dresses were of good quality and made with nice fabrics. When my sister-in-law's dress arrived a few weeks ago, it was just as it looked in the picture, it fit PERFECTLY and the color was just how we had imagined it, matched the sample perfectly. So, I'd recommend them.
