official change of name question

We we get back from our honeymoon in a couple weeks, I want to start the process of changing my name.  I understand I have to go to the courthouse and get the paper before going to the SS office.  My question is when I go to the SS office will I get my new card right away and do I need the new card before changing my license and all that stuff??

Is there really an easy way to do this?

    The SS office will give you a temporary paper and you can go immediately to the BMV with it.

    The main things I did the first day were SS, BMV, Bank and credit card.  The rest like utilities I just did as they came up.  Like if I needed to call in a payment I'd say, "oh hey, by the way" and they'd just change it right then. 

    Most places just take your word for it and don't need a copy of the abstract.  I only paid for one abstract for $2 and still have it.  Places just either need to see it, or just have you send something to them in writing that you want to change your name.
