So I'm in the process of setting up my block of hair appointments at my salon and obviously they offer updos, but they also offer a blow dry and style for 2/3 the price. I don't mean to be dumb, but what exactly is a blow dry and style? I'm thinking it's just like any time you get your hair cut, blow dried and then they run the straightener/curling iron through?  I imagine my mom and FMIL would want something a little more than that...

Also, just to get a gauge on how much others are spending, updos at my salon are $85-100 (mine will be $100). Sound about right?

$100 seems a little high to me. Is that just for the updo? I contacted Charles Penzone to get a rough estimate of what to expect to spend and it was around $55 for the lowest level of stylist, went up from there depending on what level of stylist. I always thought CP was on the higher priced end of things, maybe I am wrong though!

Yes it is just for the updo. I requested as cheap of options for my bridesmaids as possible which is still $85. Also, do people pay for their trial run as well? I just read the fine print, and I need to pay the same amount for my trial run as the actual day. I have a hard time feeling okay paying $100 for my trial run.....thoughts from the peanut gallery?

My stylist said updos are $35-60 for BMS and $75 for bridal hair. I think $100 is way too high

Thanks for confirming what my gut was saying. I will be contacting a few of the salons that are listed in the vendors post from a few days ago

Yeah you need to pay for the trials too, and many times it's the same exact cost of your actual day-of hair.  It takes the stylist just as long, if not longer, to do the trial.

Also agree that $100 is out of control expensive.  My hair AND Make up comes to $115 for the trial and then again for the day of.
