Cranbrook question

So I'm totally in love with Cranbrook as a venue for my ceremony and reception. I've been told it's crazy expensive, and since we do have a budget, I just completely dismissed it as a possible location. The other day, though, I was looking through some things online that lead me to believe we might be able to afford it. I e-mailed to get information, but what they sent was not helpful. So I called, but they didnt have too much to tell me without me coming in to take a tour. I don't want to go look and fall even more in love if it's way over our budget. So I'm wondering if anyone has had their wedding there, or know of someone who has, and if a budget of 13,000 for reception food and beverage for 200 people is possible.I know we will have to rent a tent and chairs and tables too.

i had emailed them, they pretty much had just redirected me to their website... um, duh, that's where i got your email address. lol. i never got in touch with them, but i do think i remember hearing/reading that you have to rent pretty much everything through separate vendors which seems to get a little expensive.

They require that you select a caterer off of their pre-approved list.  I never was able to reach anyone who could give me a straightforward answer about cost.  Good luck!

You also have to use photographer off there list if I remember correctly.  The photographers on their list are not cheap either.  I just wanted to do E-Pics there and I was not too impressed with having to pick one of their photographers.

Thanks for the info ladies! I think I'm just going to pass on it... it seems like it will  be a ton of work and I'm still in school and working, and also have two weddings next summer before my own!

I recently booked my ceremony reception at Cranbrook House and Gardens.  The event coordinator is Rhonda and her contact information is listed on this site (left side of screen).

Rhonda is very busy but she responds within a couple days. 

You can use whatever photographer you want. I chose a photographer that is not on her list. She did provided me with a list of "preferred photographers" but said I did not have to use them.

I chose not to have my reception there because there were too many restrictions and I thought it would get expensive having to rent everything.
Instead, I will be having my reception at The Iroquois Club, just 2 miles away.
