Favors for Guests

For my escort cards I am getting tiny pumpkin gords and having everyones name put on a brown card as well as there table number and sticking it into the stem of the pumpkin.

Do I really need to get something else to put on the table? My mom thinks the tiny pumpkins can be used for guest favors.

I was also planning on getting leaf shaped soaps to put on the table as well. But I'm not sure if that's over doing it

Let me know your thoughts.

IMHO, as a guest, I would not take the pumpkin as a favor (or think that it was my favor to take)... or the soap. Also, if the soap is super scented, I wouldn't be a fan of it near me when I was eating.

While I don't think the pumpkins would count as favors, keep in mind that favors are not a requirement.  If you want to give them something, I'd go for something edible.

I agree with the rest of the girls. I wouldn't think to take the pumpkin home and if it were real less inclined too even if i did know because what am i going to do with it. The soap might be a good idea but like meghanashley00 said it they are scented make sure they are tightly wrapped somehow and clearly marked as soap ( wouldn't want to overpower the guest and dont want anyone mistaking it for pretty colored chocolates!)

I wouldnt take the pumpkin or soap...sorry! I have no idea what I would do with one little pumpkin and I hate bar soap. I think most people use body wash now and I'm not a fan of decorative soap. They just get dusty.

I'm personally not doing favors BUT if I did (and I'm a fall bride also) I had planned on packaging fall bulbs for everyone and if they didn't take them I would plant them at our house. I love flowers. Edible is also great!

I am also for edible favors. since you theme is fall, maybe you could cook (or buy) pumpkin seeds and put them in small orange or brown semi-see through plastic bags with a cute tag. The tag could even double as escort cards if you wanted.

You don't have to give anything out. But if you do, I suggest something edible. I'm giving out mints. It's something small that girls can just throw in their purse and guys can put them in their pockets. Most weddings I've gone to have no favors. The ones that do...they either broke or I threw away.

As PP said favors aren't a necessity. I wouldn't tale home the pumpkin or the soap and if you do want to do favors I say edible is the way to go

definitely edible favors, if you do them at all. I wouldn't take the little gourd home...or the soap to be honest. If you want something fall themed, you could always do m&m's in fall colors (or colors that match your wedding), or fall shaped chocolates or something of that sort.

Besides the odor concerns of a strong smelling soap at their dinner table - some people are allergic to things, have sensitive skin, etc and couldn't use the soap.

My FSIL did the pumpkin goard as escort card and it was really cute but I don't think anyone took them home. I think favors are an unnecessary expense but if you want to do something go edible.

I also wouldn't do the soap. That's more of a shower favor than a wedding favor, and it really only appeals to the female guests. If you really want a favor, go w/ edible. We had personalized mini candy bars. I also like the mint idea because people will probably use it after dinner!

what im doing is haveing a basket at the exit with matchbooks the nice ones with are colors and date. it suits everyone and people always needs a match for something. while my husband is giving out cigars to all the men at the wedding which is some 40 guys and we will also be putting out bottle openers at the exit with the match books. i dont know if thats over doing it i just want everyone to have a good time
