...but I just got a call from my mom, who said "I may not like wedding cake or the fact that your horses will be in your pics, but it isn't my wedding.  You can have whatever you want."

What happened, what did I do... and can I work the same magic on my dad?

LOL. I'm a mom, so here's some insight: Sometimes "we" have a million things in our brains, and the kids just don't know we aren't concentrating on the one thing they are telling us at the time. Our brains and emotions are in hyper-drive, juggling a million thoughts, and whatever it is you are telling us has to be assimilated. It's not that you aren't important, it's that we have to have time.

It's either that, or it's the old "menopause" excuse. I'm past menopause, but I do remember sometimes flying off the handle for no good reason, then having to go back and eat humble pie. The fact these two explanations are all surrounded by the stress of a wedding probably magnifies it.
