Help Please :)

I am having the MOST difficult time finding a photographer.  I'm not getting enough info from the vendor reviews, and it seems like most of them don't have their photos back yet so they haven't had the full experience yet! My budget is around $1500, and I would prefer someone who works out of a studio, not just their home. Any ideas PLEASE! :)

I think you could be limiting yourself by not using someone that works out of their home.  What if they have a home studio?  I am using Sandy from The Camera Chick.  She is well with in your budget and great!!  However, she works out of a home studio.

I'm just a little nervous, the store I bought my dress from went out of business, ordered the wrong size dress now I'm stuck with it. So I'm a little paranoid about using someone out of their home (I dunno, they could move, take my money, run away & hide from me...lol) But I guess a studio could do the same thing!

Is there a reason why you are looking for someone with a studio? The only one I can think of that has a studio is Mod4. I don't know where their packages start at, so hopefully someone can make a recommendation for you.

Anyone could just pick-up and leave. But, that's what we're here for to help make recommendations. Some of the photographers that are recommended here are:

Amanda Williams (or her associate Jen MacPherson)
    KBL Photography
    Pure Amour Photography
    Kreativ Imaging

There's many more in the sticky post at the top. I would definitely check there, and if you have a question on a specific photographer, you can PM that person.

That's why you hire someone who has a contract, so if something like that does happen you have legal rights.
I'm pretty sure Casey (Irey) would not do that to you. She does wedding, maternity, baby, senior, and family pictures. Plus, she signs over the rights of the pictures to you, and you can do whatever you want with them.

Some of the best (and most respected) photographers work out of there home so I wouldn't out them.

I wouldn't write off home-based photographers... They do so to cut overhead. And it's not like when everything was on 35mm film and photographers printed out their own work- most hire it out in the digital age.

Unfortunately, even having a studio is not a guarantee that you wont be fleeced, or the company wont suddenly disappear and go out of business.  I would be more concerned with vendor reviews, and like PP mentioned, having a good contract.

Ditto everyone else. My photographer www.amyboevephotography works out of her home and is one of the best! Plus her customer service is AMAZING. Read our rec's..we don't lie :)

But as far as photographers in your budget :
I would also rec Amanda Williams or Kris at Kreative Imaging oh and KBL.

Ditto everyone recommended in this post. Don't limit yourself to studio photographers. They may also not be the type of photographer you want. Alot of photogs that work out of their home are very artsy and their photos turn out great. We are using Kreativ Imaging. And he has done quite a few brides from TK. You can check out his pictures on Facebook. He's been awesome to work with.
