True Blood Watchers?

Anyone watch True Blood?  What do you think of this season so far?

FI and I are debating even tuning in anymore.  For some reason it's just not keeping our attention.  The first half of the season was SO complex with all the vampire history and laws and I felt like they didn't really explain it all very well.  The episodes seem to drag lately too.  We're getting more information now but...I don't know what to think of it.  And I don't want to give away spoilers in case anyone that wants to watch it hasn't yet.

i don't watch the show but I just wanted to add that some of it is filmed in the Walled Lake/Commerce area. At some point during the seasons they have used the different high schools for filming.

Just thought I would add :)

I watch and totally agree...this season just hasnt had what the previous seasons did...I didnt read the books, so it is even harder for me to keep up with all of the laws and such but my boss read them and gave me some juicy details that are keeping me watching the show... I had no idea they filmed some in MI...that's kind of cool!!

I heart True Blood! I found out what the new waitress is, and if you watched Sunday, they sort of showed what Crystal is.  I'm addicted to it....I so want to read the books, but I love the show so much, I'm not sure if I want to spoil it! (So not like me--I'm usually a book first, then show/movie!)

I did not know that they filmed it around here!  That's very interesting.

It's funny because the episode before last FI and I were trying to figure out what Sookie "really is" and I just blurted out "FAIRY" and we laughed about it.  And now she really is.....?? Uh, okay.

Yeah the Crystal thing too is totally weird...I don't know why so many people are mythical creatures in this town!  I'm more interested in the vampires to be honest.  I could do without the others.

I agree that things with Lafayette are also getting too weird.  He's one of my favorite characters normally because he keeps things kind of funny and light, but if he is starting to get into some kind of weird/mystical scenario I'm not going to be pleased.

I'm too cheap to get HBO, so I'm waiting until it comes out on DVD.

Love this show, FI & I watch every Sunday, but we do agree that its lacking a lot.

Question:  Is Russell the Oldest vampire, making him the strongest???  Nobody seems to want to mess with him, lol

I LOVE the books!  What is getting me with the show is how much they have strayed from the books, its almost bothersome.  I want to yell at the tv and say thats not how this goes!

kk- he is the oldest, at least in the area that they live in.

i didnt know the show was straying from the books so much! that explains a lot of the mania and weirdness.

Just a few differences that the show has strayed from the books:  Lafayette was the one who died at the end of the first season that they found in the car.  So his whole storyline isn't in the books.  Godric wasn't Erics maker.  The whole Maenad thing was so small in the books and not as crazy as they made it in the show.  Those are just a few from past seasons that shouldn't ruin anything for anyone.

Really? I think this season is one of the best! This show keeps getting deeper and more complex. I love it. And the hunky werewolf? Are you kidding me its hot hot HOT! Some things are cheesy of course but they always have been. I dont know maybe its just me but I love all the old story lines and flashbacks and everything...
