Fall Venue

my fiance and I are both from MI and live out in CA...we are looking to come home for the big day next October! Does anyone have suggestions for a unique fall reception venue?  I like the rustic/vintage/eclectic/shabby chic look...maybe even partial outdoor ceremony...but you never know with the weather!  greater detroit area please!!

Congrats and welcome to the Detroit board!

If you look at the top of the board, there is a thread with a yellow push pin regarding the venues and vendors many of us have used.

It would help us to help you if you can provide the following:

    - anticipated guest list
    - budget
    - more specific geography. As a former Michigander you are aware of the area, are you looking east side (Macomb county, eastern Oakland county) or west side (wayne county and oakland county)?

If your guest list is under 100 I can strongly recommend my venue, which is Greenmead Village in Livonia. Link below to my bio, then look at the vendor tab and it is there. I also have more in my post on the "yellow push pin" post at the top of the board with pricing and experience. You can go indoor for the reception, or set up tents if you like. The non-denominational chapel is lovely and vintage and 200 yards from the banquet venue.

I love love love my venue, but I'm not sure if it's in the area you want. It's in Saline... but it's everything you described! Very unique, vintage, shabby chic. For the ceremony they have a beautiful garden, a giant gazebo, or you can do it indoors in the hall. They can fit parties from like 70-300 people (depending on which room you rent), and prices range from $27/pp and up.

    Check out their website: http://www.wellersweddings.com/

    Good luck :)

I love my venue is in Novi, its called tollgate farm. its run by MSU and thier master gardeners. its a 169 acre farm with an old barn for the reception.....its gorgeous!! you can get married anywhere on the property, they have several different garden areas for a cocktail hour, its the perfect place in metro detroit for a rustic country style wedding!

We are estimating 250-300 - grew up in Farmington Hills, looking anywhere in Oakland County probably...maybe Detroit.  Really open right now!
