I'll be honest, I'm starting to get frustrated looking for my next job.  I had an in at Beaumont but it turns out they can't hire anyone for the position I really wanted.  Apparently, the job wasn't supposed to be posted.

ETA: I almost just screamed at the lab's postdoc for being a total moron.  I was teaching an undergrad how to do something and he came over saying it was all wrong (when we were half way done and then again when we were done) and what had to change but he couldn't explain why when our undergrad asked.  When he then went outside for a smoke break I told the undergrad what the postdoc couldn't and then complained.  I'm really tired of the postdoc treating everyone like morons and getting all high and mighty just because he has a PhD.  It's safe to say he is the dumbest person with a PhD that I know.  With his behavior and attitude I keep counting down the days until I leave for the wedding and get a vacation.

  • Vent: I'm still sick. I just can't get rid of all this congestion. Not enough to keep me home in bed but just enough to make me miserable.

  • Vent: David's Bridal and Mens Warehouse drive me nuts. I've been getting calls from Mens Warehouse for a week confirming my appointment on Friday at noon. I never scheduled an appointment. I wouldn't schedule one on a Friday when I work M-F 8-5pm. Every time they call me, I ask them to cancel the appointment. They have yet to listen to me.

I called Davids last week to schedule a bridesmaid appointment for two weeks from now. So that makes it 3 weeks in advance! They insisted that there was only ONE appointment time available for that whole day, we would only get a half hour for our appointment, and we were only allowed ONE room for all four of my bridesmaids. Not to mention, I've never been talked to so rudely by someone on the phone before. Needless to say, I didn't make that appointment, and we'll spend the 18th at Becker's Bridal looking at dresses.

  • I confess that I've been at work all of 5 minutes and I'd like to go home -- and I just came back from being out for four days for my grandfather's funeral. Now, I'm coming down with a cold and would really just like to be under the covers today.

<div>Sorry you are having trouble with MW... but I am so glad to not have to deal with DB every again! My BMs got their dresses there because they were cheap, came in multiple sizes, and re-wearable. Their customer service is/was terrible though.</div>

  • I confess that I started C25k last week. and this week I am repeating the first week. I am more out of shape then I thought. In the past, I have had no problem doing the first week.

But at least you're doing it!

Not too much from me except that I am currently freezing and I have no way to adjust the thermostat.  Boo!
  • Confession #1: I already gave up on c25k. I just don't like running and neither do my joints. Confession #2: I unofficially joined the power walkers at my building. I'm by far the youngest one, and i just follow them around (guess i should be called a power stalker lol) but it is nice to get away from my desk for a 1/2 hour.
  • I have been horrible to FI lately...eveything is starting to really stress me out. He has been NO help throughout the entire process and sees nothing wrong with that... I'd like to strangle him lol.

I asked him to call the reception venue to find out about a few things, and he calls then hangs up and calls me to tell me what happened (they weren't willing to do what we asked) so now it's up to me. Seriously?! UGH.

  • I confess that I'm really loving FI having classes till late on Monday and Tuesday nights...I can workout on my own time and still have time to catch up on TV shows only I watch as well as start on craft projects! Something about him being out of the apartment puts me into productive mode!

Didn't we start around the same time (mid-January)? I totally fell off the bandwagon, too. For me, it was how annoying the treadmill in my building was with all the intervals you have to do. I've decided I'll do it when the whether is nice enough to be outside. We'll see if that actually happens.

  • Meegles - yep it didnt take me long to stop. I'm just not a runner. I'll stick with the elliptical. ****not intended to be discouraging to anyone trying c25k. It works if you stick with it (and generally like running)****
  • I think I am going to adopt a second cat even though I should be saving every penny for the wedding. Oops.
