Bridal Shower Invites: Etiquette

So I have a question regarding Bridal Shower Invitations.  Is it ok to include where you are registered at directly on the invite? Or do I just include the registry cards?  Thanks for your opinions!

Either is fine. For showers, including the registry info. directly on the invitation is fine because the purpose of the event is to "shower the bride with gifts".

Putting registry info. directly on a WEDDING invitation is the real no-no.

But if you'd prefer to use up the registry cards, those are fine too for the shower. I don't think I'd put registry cards in the wedding invitation...at that point I'd just spread your registry info. by word of mouth or have it on your wedding website.

Like Meegles said - anything registry related on a WEDDING invite is rude and tacky. On a shower invite, you can put it directly on it or the inserts. Personally, I would rather it say on the invite because then on one piece of paper you have the shower date/time/location/and where they are registered - if I received a shower invite with an insert, I would write on the invite where they are registered and throw the insert out (does that make sense?)

Agreed with everyone above, and...
It might just be the way you phrased your question, but your post made it sound like you yourself are making and sending out the invitations to your shower - which I would consider a big etiquette no-no.  If your gal pal sends out invites that say "Lauren is registered at Kohl's and Macy's," that would be fine.  Invites from you that say "I'm registered at Kohl's and Macy's" (i.e. "Please bring me presents) would be pretty tacky-looking.

Thanks for all of your input.  Truly appreciated!  And no, I am not sending the invites myself, but I am the one ordering them online, as my mom is not very computer savvy!
