I don't post too often, but wanted to do a quick check to make sure I am on track with planning. Our wedding is on August 17th 2013 and to date we have completed the following:

• Save the Date magnets printed - Magnet Street
• Venue selected - The Colony Club
• Tasting completed
• Musician chosen - Joshua & Jeremy Sprague
• Invitations designed
• Hotel block reserved - Greektown Casino & Hotel
• Wedding weekend room reserved - Greektown Casino & Hotel
• Bridesmaids and Groomsmen chosen
• Bridesmaid dresses chosen - J. Bari
• Dress found and ordered - B. Ella Bridal, Plymouth
• Hair and makeup stylist booked - Mi Amore Event Hair & Makeup
• Centerpieces chosen and delivered - QuickCandles
• Day of transportation chosen
• Guest list finalized
• Shower date(s) selected and locations booked - Flemings & Fiamma Grill
• Videographer booked - family friend

Am I missing any time sensitive tasks?! I consider myself a very organized person, but I am terrified something is going to slip through the cracks. We are working on flowers right now, and in the early stages of planning our honeymoon, but other then that I feel like we don't have anything we have to do right at the moment ...

You are light years ahead of the planning I had done 10 months before the wedding! looks good to me...

What did Greektown quote you? They weren't the most expensive downtown hotel but I had expected them to be cheaper!

They were cheaper than MGM & Atheneum. They don't have transportation like Atheneum does, but we thought the rooms were nicer (personal preference).

Are your musicians doing all the music, or is there a DJ?
Not having a DOC? May not be needed, I don't know what the Colony Club does.
If you are using a florist, don't wait too long. The more popular/price friendly ones book up fast.
Cake?

The only other thing I can think of is tuxes or men's suits, but you have plenty of time for that.

I was pretty organized, and about where you are now ahead of our wedding last August. During this "down time" I started searching for BM & GM gifts online when I'd see sales I'd buy. I made a huge spreadsheet with a countdown backward from the wedding day, so I always had something staring me in the face. I also inserted "check up on" dates at the 3 & 6 month marks before the wedding to email or call vendors to make sure all arrangements were agreed upon and in place. 

Looks good from where I am, LOL.

Thanks I think those were the prices I was quoted as well! I was told to check into Marriott and the Double Tree, supposedly they were cheaper and had a shuttle. I was hoping to book The Westin but I think their prices are right up there with Antheneums!
