Paper Flowers for Centerpieces

So as flowers goes I think everybody knows they are super expinsive unless you DIY. Even then it can get pricey. I am having a family friend do silk flowers for the bouquets and the boutonnieres which is majorily cutting down the price. But for the centerpieces I as thinking of doing paper flowers. I found a lot of tutorials on pinterest like this one

But what do you guys think? Will it look cheap?

I had the same idea, however, I actually met with a florist and the price is actually pretty close to what silk flowers would be. Usually, it depends on the type of flowers you go with, etc. You may want to at least consult with a florist.

I think the paper flowers are very cute, but I also think it depends on the theme/venue you're going with.

  • I like the paper flowers in the picture, However I know if I tried to make them there is no way in a million years they would ever turn out looking like that. If you are a talented DIYer then it would look great, if you are like me and not so great at DIYing then yes they would look cheap.  I also have to agree with pp, you have to consider your venue and theme. Will the paper flowers fit both?

TiffanyT816, I have consulated with a florist and it is way more expenisve to do it that way because I am having a family friend do the silk flowers she is giving us a HUGE discount. Thanks for the input though :)

The venue is an old 1920's ballroom that was owned by Henry Ford to through his parties. The theme is literary theme. I have made newspaper covered candle holders, and chalkboard table numbers. The centerpieces and cupcake stand wil be made of books.

Also I have tried a couple of the flowers from the website and it's actually really easy. The ones I through together quickly looked pretty close the the picture so if I spent some time with it, I think I could make them look nice.
