Back with Vendor Review

I am going to start by saying that everything went without a hitch! We had an absolutely perfect day! The little things that did go wrong were so minor, and when it came to it on the day of, it didn't matter. I am putting the review in this post, but also put it in my bio for future reference! I'll try to be on as often as possible, but am trying to get settled back in, and am fighting a little bout of sickness right now.

Reception: Crystal Gardens, Howell –  B+ The venue was beautiful and the food was good. We ran into a few snags in the planning and the day of, but nothing major. Overall I am pleased with them and would recommend them to someone else. I knocked them down a little because it was a struggle to get in for a food tasting. They usually do it at their bridal shows (twice a year). We went to the first one and by the time we got to eat, the food was cold. We couldn’t make the second one, so scheduling one turned into this big headache. Everything went well the day of, the only issues were that they put out the wrong color of blue napkins, and it just did not feel like the AC was working to it’s fullest potential. It may be that I was on the dance floor a ton and it was a hot day too. I was annoyed at the napkins, because they should have matched the sashes on the chair covers, something I thought was obvious, but didn’t find it a big deal either.

Ceremony: Beacon Hill Golf Club – A+ We had a heck of a time finding a ceremony site and this was the only place that would work with us in a time frame we wanted. It also happened to be the most gorgeous. The site was beautiful and the staff was very accommodating.

Photographer: Benjamin David Photography – A+ We couldn’t be more pleased with our pictures! Ben is a coworker of mine so I was hesitant about using him, but am so glad I did. I had compliments from the bridal party saying that he was nice, since some photographers can be pushy. We had a great time with him and he was more than willing to shoot anything we suggested. The pictures turned out to be exactly what I wanted and more!

Florist : April Irelynn Designs –  A The flowers came out gorgeous! They were exactly what we wanted and we only physically met with her once, the rest was done through mail and email. The only problem we ran into was that she made more grandfather bouts instead of the father ones. Both of our parents are divorces and remarried so we needed more of the father bouts than grandfather, this just got mixed up.  Many of the guys bouts wilted and fell over during the ceremony, I attribute this primarily to the very hot day and the ceremony being outside though. I think it is to be expected.

DJ: Emmitt Muckles from Muckles Entertainment –  A+ We LOVE Emmitt! The DJ was one of our most important vendors, which also became one of our favorites. We wanted someone that had the same excitement and energy that we have, someone that would pump up the crowd. We even had people who thought he was a friend of ours because of how he and DH interacted. He was very personable and offered great suggestions. Emmitt also did our ceremony music, and became a little photographer himself while he was there.

Photobooth: Rock the Booth – A I am beyond glad we decided to go with the photobooth. We debated it and finally decided we wanted one. It also wasn’t until last minute that we decided to add the scrapbook option for an extra $100. Let me tell you, it was worth it! We were going to to just buy supplies, but eventually decided it would probably cost around the same, we would just put it in their hands to save us time. The attendant was so sweet and she worked her tail off all night putting together this scrapbook as people signed it. It was ready for us by the end of the evening and it was such an awesome thing for us to go through that night. We had my son and my nieces at the wedding and their favorite part was the photobooth, the attendant was beyond accommodating to the kids and dealt with them amazingly!

Glad you had an overall good experience with your vendors. I'm not surprised at your rating for CG, because we've had similar issues with them.

Your pictures turned out amazing and I can't wait for Ben to shoot our wedding!
