I DIYed mine - used google maps to get directions to confirm exit numbers, etc. but I pretty much knew how to get to each place. I did kinda generic directions from north/south and east/west.

For the map I just drew it out with lines and symbols using publisher - its defintely not to scale just more to give people a general idea of where things are.

I DIY'ed mine as well. I used Google maps with the print screen feature and then pasted it into Publisher. Then I traced the map and added stars for the ceremony/reception locations. On the back side of the map I put written directions.

I didn't do a map, I just did directions from the North & South as it's really easy to get there.

I DIY'ed mine using Adobe Illustrator... basically used google maps for directions and map and then created my own using lines. At first I traced the map image using a screen capture and drawing lines on top and then deleting the map image below, but I didn't like the look of all the curves in the road, so I modified it to be more clean lines, and then had a few people look it over to make sure they understood it.  I have the worded directions on the website for anyone that wants to use those.  I also typed up an accommodations card, saved both sides as 4 to a page.  I took the PDF files to staples and the copy center printed them 4 per page on cardstock, and cut them for me. It wasn't the easiest DIY but I love how it turned out... I'm going to try to PIP.

I made one in powerpoint using guidance from this website...

I used google to find clip art for the hotel, ceremony & reception sites.

I just have to say, all your maps look awesome!!!  I tried several times to make my own map using the same techniques, but drawing on the computer is just not my strong suit.  They all turned out looking like crap.  :(  So I've delegated this task to FI, we'll see if he can do any better.  Anyhoo, I am very impressed with all of you talented knotties!

Haha...after all this talk about the different programs, I too have delegated this to FI.  I'm super impressed with all the DIYness on this board!

Honestly, I didn't do a map because everyone knows where Frankenmuth is.  LOL!  But if I did do a map, I would have created it in Publisher. :)
