Big Feet Friendly?

Hello Ladies,

I've got my dress, and now I need shoes...the hardest part. I wear a size 11 (sometimes a wide) in dress shoes, and since I didn't order an extra long dress, I'd like to keep the heel under 3 inches. Macys doesn't carry 11s, nor do a lot of stores anymore.

Anyone have tips for finding bridal shoes in the Troy/Shelby/Macomb area?

  • I would probably start looking online.  I loved zappos and 6pm.com.  Zappos has free shipping and free return shipping with hassle free returns.  I love them :)
  • I wear a size 11, sometimes a wide, and have NEVER had a problem finding shoes. Most of my shoes even come from Macy's, so I'm not sure what you mean by them not carrying them. Try a Shoe Dept. There are a few locations in metro Detroit. I've always had good luck there.

  • Even Payless Shoes has size 11 womens, you just have to keep looking around. I've gotten most of my heels from justfab.com, but I just always have an eye out for shoes my size.

The Macy's in my town told me "11 isn't a very popular size anymore, so we rarely carry it, if at all". I've bought from Payless, but my only complaint is the shoes are so uncomfortable. I tried going to Zappos.com, and it told me that I can't view the website because I have an international IP address. Andddd the search continues!!

  • Try DSW at Hall and Schoenherr....
  • Nordstrom's Rack off of Big Beaver (16 mile) near Rochester Rd in Troy. The shoes are sorted by size and they have racks of size 11 shoes.

  •  I'm glad I saw this post. I'm getting married in September and also wear a size 11. I've always have had a hard time finding shoes that are comfortable and reasonably priced.
I've been lucky at Sears and Kohls for finding  some dress shoes (I bought a pair of silver shoes there for a wedding at Sears).  As a bride though they don't really have fancy dress shoes. I happened to be looking at DSW online and saw a few wedding shoes that I thought would be nice and were under $50. I may go into the store to see what they have as well.

I haven't found many 11s in the bridal shops either. If anyone else finds something please post. I'm in the Dearborn area.
