Need Recommendation for Photo/DJ Combo

Ok, I read the vendor reviews and such but I need imput and recommendations for a Photographer/DJ combo.

We haven't set a real budget but I am thinking along the lines of $1500 for both.

We won't be needing engagement pics, a photo booth or video taping.

We live in Macomb County.

I would reccomend Sandy from The Camera Chick and Mike from the Music Butler! They aren't a combo, but they both do great work and are at an excellent price! All of their info is in my bio! Good Luck!

MIke Staff has packages for dj/photographer. I'm not sure on the price, but the more services you buy from them the cheaper the price is.

Though not a combo I also second The Music Butler for a DJ.  His prices are better than any combos I've seen and sounds better (IMO).  For a photographer, I recommend Larry Roels.  His prices are also great and he can modify his packages.

I went with Mike Staff for DJ/video. Thought about using them for photography, but found someone I liked better.

It's true you get deals if you do more than one service with Mike Staff, but I wouldn't consider them amazing deals. Had I been willing to do more research, I likely could have found a videographer and a DJ from two separate places for less than what I'm paying for Mike Staff to do both. But, I liked the idea of only having one vendor to deal with and I was kind of lazy in that I didn't want to do any more research (and they are a great company). We also wanted a photo booth and using Mike Staff gave us a discount on the photo booth.

If you have the time, I'd suggest looking around and not necessarily going the "package deal" route since it's not always a cost savings.

I'm with the poster above me. It might not be the absolute cheapest option but it seemed easiest to me. We are using Mike Staff for photography/DJ.

I think the mike staff packages for dj/photo started in the $3k range. We booked them for DJ/video and paid $1200 for DJ and $1800 for video. I think it would have started around $5400 if we booked DJ/video. There were other companies that had cheaper prices, but I liked the way MSP was run. The old vendor stickies (embedded within the new post) have lots more reviews.

Stela Zaharieva / Urban Kris - you get a discount when booking them together. We waited to long to book them and our date was taken by the time we were ready to go... really bummed about it actually! good luck!
