Highlands Country Club

My FI and I went to go tour the Highlands CC in Garrison, NY tonight and we both loved it! We're seriously thinking of booking it. Has anyone ever been to or had their wedding here? Reviews and/or opinions? Thanks!

Congrats! Which hotel are you and your guests using in the area? I'm having a hard time finding one I like.

That place is beautiful! Just make sure to check the numbers with whoever you are dealing with.

(When we looked) I was told that for a Saturday (June) wedding, the minimum required was 125. which was fine. But they also said that the place holds a maximum of 130. So I would check on that.

The food is really good too!

My wedding was at their sister property, the Garrison, and most of our guests stayed at the Hotel Sierra in fishkill.

Did they offer a shuttle service?
  • edited December 2011

They don't offer a shuttle. But I just found the paperwork that I had from Hotel Sierra. In their wedding folder they recommend West Point Tours as a shuttle company. (JTR is also another one highly recommended on this board)

We looked at Hotel Sierra. It is beautiful! At the time, according to trip advisor it was the #1 hotel in Fishkill. I was on that site a lot when deciding on a hotel. But we did not go with Sierra because for our wedding weekend they were requiring a two night minimum stay for our guests. We planned to stay two nights anyway. But they were requiring our guests to also stay two nights our weekend. And it was firm. since we didn't have anyone who would be staying two nights, we went elsewhere. So you might want to ask about that.

We went with Hilton Garden Inn (At the time it was #3). They were really nice and accommodating. (I literally just checked and now they are now both are #2 and #5) But we had a  great time with HGI.

But in answer to your question - Hotel Sierra recommends West Point tours for a shuttle bus. They don't offer one themselves.

    GL! HTH!

    Hi Sarah!

No we didn't have our reception at Highlands. We looked there, but when everything was said and done and considered (minimum, location, etc) we decided to have our reception at Putnam National Golf Club. We had a great wedding! And I am really happy with that choice. As it turned out, we only had 104 people, so we wouldn't have hit a 125 minimum anyway. Our place originally had a 120 person minimum, but our venue coordinator dropped it to 100.

PNGC is one of the properties on Jean Jacques catering list and the food was incredible!

But I had work party at Highlands and it is beautifuil with great food! Good luck!

Great Choice!  I've been to a few weddings there and they've always been fantastic... the food, atmosphere and staff were all exceptional

    Good luck!
