Semi New...need DJ Suggestions

Hello, this is my first time posting here.  I have been searching for a good, reasonalbly priced DJ in the area (I am getting married in Ann Arbor).  It seems like it has been taking me sooo long to pick out vendors becuase I am constantly comparing and really not knowing much about them other than what they tell me themselves (which is always good of course!). So any suggestions of DJs you  have had good experiences with would be great!

    Welcome to the board!

    You may find the sticky notes at the top helpful. There are vendor reviews as well as a list of vendors the Knotties are using on here.

    A couple DJ's that are rec'd on this board are:

    Brendan Pfaff-Best DJ
    Paul Taylor-Sunshine Entertainment
    Mike Staff

    I used Sunshine Entertainment and loved Paul. He kept the dance floor packed all night long and his prices are reasonable. I think he charged us $750.

    Hi and welcome!

    We used Brendan Pfaff - Best DJ service. He was PHENOMENAL!  I'm sure Jholbel will attest to that as well.

    Definitely check the stickies for other recs :)

    Yes, we LOVED Brendan -- can't say enough good things about him!!  He has a flat rate of $800.  He did the sound at our outdoor ceremony, as well as music at reception.  Full review in married bio.

    Also, tell us more about yourself. :-)

    Thanks for the suggestions...I actually emailed Brendan yesterday! I haven't heard back from him yet, but I am glad to hear he had good reviews!  It sounds like his prices are very reasonable too...I have heard good things about Mike Staff as well, but his prices are a lot higher than what I am looking for.  Does he have a big selection of songs? A few of the songs I would like played are not so traditional.

    jhobel, I am getting married at Cobblestone Farms in Ann Arbor next September 23.  We got engaged in May, but I just recently started planning, so it is great to have all of your input and suggestions!

    A great wedding weekend!  We got married September 25th.  :-)  I would have liked it to be about 5 degrees wamer...or maybe a touch of sun...but I can't really complain because we pulled off an outdoor ceremony in late September.

    If Brendan is available, I would book him for sure.  One of my bridesmaids is getting married in June and she really wanted to use him after our wedding, but he was already booked that day.

    Congrats on your upcoming wedding. A few other former knotties got married at Cobblestone. It is gorgeous that time of year!

    We're using Landan Vick with Masters of Ceremony.

    He's gotten amazing reviews from our friends!

    We are using michigan dj service, we met them at a bridal show in dearborn and we just clicked.  They are very reasonable $450 for 5 hours.

    This! Our wedding was at Cobblestone, too, and though we didn't use Brendan (he was already booked, and wouldn't budge when I bribed him) I've seen his work, and I know he's done a few weddings at Cobblestone. If you're doing the ceremony there too you definitely want someone who's experienced- our dj SUCKED. Like.... really sucked. And had a really difficult time loading/unloading his gear and switching from the ceremony to the reception

    Just wanted to let everyone know that thanks to all of your suggestions, we did end up booking Brendan! Thanks for referring him! He seems like he is going to be a great fit to our day!

    Hippie - thanks for the input! Do you have any others suggestions for weddings at Cobblestone? I have not talked to anyone who has used them.  So far things seems to be going good with the planning, but I would love to hear what you thought of them as a whole for your day!
