NWR - The weather outside is frightful

SO - this morning u of m sent out a severe weather warning e-mail. THEY NEVER DO THAT. A few minutes ago - our security guy sent out information about where to go for shelter inside of our building. I'm actually a little worried now. :'(

If it makes you feel better, it just finished going through East Lansing, and it wasn't that bad. We didn't lose power or anything.I think it's still raining a lot, but that's about it.

You reminded me of a funny story.  Remember a few weeks ago when that bad storm went through and a lot of people's homes were destroyed in the area?  Can't remember if they ever decided it was officially a tornado or not.  Anyway, I was in Ann Arbor staying with FI and the tornado sirens went off in the middle of the night.  He slept right through it!  I'm awake all worried, and I can't even wake him up!  I finally do wake him up, and he tells me not to worry about it and go back to sleep.  WTF?!?  No thanks, i'm headed to the basement, I don't want to die!  They went off again about 2 hours later.  His advise?  "I bet if you shut the window we won't have to hear it."  Um, h*ll no!  I want to at least hear if there's a tornado coming!!!

I'm actually a little bummed because I do like thunderstorms (not that I wanted it to be the crazy, "seek shelter" kind) and it looks like here in Ypsi we are only getting a little rain.  So much for my excitement for the day...guess it's just work as usual.

Is anyone a little freaked out though at the number of severe storms we have gotten in the last few weeks?  I think the count is at 4-5 now.  I can't remember there being that many in a summer for the past few years.

Yeah - looks like the sun is coming back out here in ann arbor.. I hear there might be some more severe storms later today.

Yeah - we have had more than usual.. and pretty early in the summer already. Probably something we're doing to the atmosphere. I'm use burning that oil from the spill isn't good for our air.

I think it's pretty strange too with all these storms.  I hope it's not any indication of weather next summer because I really want to make sure all goes smoothly with our ceremony outside!  So hopefully it's just a fluke.
