HI Ladies!

Our venue has two large flatscreens behind the bar and we would like to play an old, romantic, black & white movie (on silent, of course) to go with our vintage theme throughout the evening. Favorite B&W love stories? Anything visually pleasing come to mind?

    Classic B&W love stories:
     
    "Casablanca" I think is the quintessential one, it's #1 on the American Film Institute's list of 100 best love stories:

    "The Philadephia Story" with Katherine Hepburn and Cary Grant

    Also on their list is "Roman Holiday", which I personally love, "Wuthering Heights", and "Camille" with the stunning Greta Garbo.

    If it were my wedding, and I was doing what you are doing, I'd show "Casablanca", with the background of WWII starting in Paris, and "Roman Holiday". Both have international venues, very romantic.

    The first film that came to mind was Casablanca.. BUT I think if you found the time, you and your FI should really consider making your own black and white movie!! We're doing a slideshow of baby photos up until our engagement photos and whatnot, but I think it'd totally be cute if you tried to create your own silent film (even if it's only 10 minutes long.. definitely something to talk about!)
