Any Greystone Brides?

Looking for any other Greystone brides out there. Wondering if you went with buffet or plated, and what your opinions are? And what dishes you went with?

I'm one! We aren't til June though.. We're doing plated & doing chicken & filet for everyone (hooray for no entree choices on response cards!). We haven't chosen our exact menu yet. We'll be doing that in early April.

  • Me me me!! I love Greystone! We are doing the sunday plated because we couldn't meet there minimum with our 100 guests. The food is great! Definitely take advantage of the Mothers Day brunch. You will get to try a a few of their dinner options. One of the only things my fi  has to have at the wedding is their raspberry chicken!

  • My brother was married there in 2009 & I'll be having my shower there in September. They went with the plated raspberry chicken & filet. DELICIOUS!!!! I loved everything about greystone--including the little bridal suite off the bathroom--and I can't wait for my shower!!
  • I am a Greystone Bride. We are getting married there in July. We decided after attending the Mother's Day brunch to do the buffet. The food was delicious even when it was served buffet style. We decided to chose the Prime RIb station, Gouda Bacon Chicken (LOVE this!!!), and most likely the Salmon. We liked the idea of having more choices for our guest, and they set-up for the buffet there is really nice. They have servers that help guests, and Maggie said that they have someone serve you and your groom. I believe for my side dishes we went with the Alfraedo Bow-tie pasta, and the Garlic Red Skin potatoes. And in case if you didn't know, they are going to be remodeling the room this February. They are painting (removing the wall paper) and putting up actual chandaliers! Maggie was very excited about this and could not stop talking about it when we saw her during the holidays.

  • Anne, did Maggie say what color paint they are going with?? I am so happy to hear about the chandeliers! One of the only things I didn't like was the lighting.

  • The color paint is a creme light tan. They had one wall painted already - the wall with the windows. I was also very excited when she told me about it!

  • Thanks ladies! I am really torn between doing a buffet or a plated dinner. My fiance thinks I'm nuts to worry about it, but it's just part of being a bride I guess!

  • when will they be done with the remodeling?
  • I guess the owners of Greystone also own a construction company who is doing the work. She said that it should be done in a timely matter; it will be definitely done before the spring. Maggie said that they did not have any events going on during the winter. So don't worry!!

  • I'm September 22nd!

What did you ladies decide on for Reception time? I'm also having my ceremony there, so I'm leaning towards a 5:30 ceremony with a 6 to 12 reception.

  • Do you ladies know how long you get for pics there? I cant rememember.

I think right now I am set to have a 5:30 Ceremoney, Reception 6-1 (I think we are paying to have it extended for 1 hour)

So does that mean when the ceremony is over, the guests return to the hall, we go out and do pics till 6:30 or 7?

    So what times dinner?

Sorry I am a little confused on how that works :)

<div>When you get closer to your date you will map all of this out with Maggie since she is your DOC. Don't get stressed out about it, you seem like you are beginning to.
