10 days to go ... what am I forgetting!?

I feel like months ago I was Nancy-Know-It-All, and I'm just losing my mind lately!  With just 1- days to go, it seems like anything that could fall apart has...except of course; the love of my fiance;)

I misunderstood just about the worst thing with our venue contract (that the room rental fee, though costly, does not apply to our food/bev balance) and it seems like I now need to lay out every little detail so we don't end up in Europe in 12 days with a small amount of cash!!

What am I forgetting?  What did you find you needed to cough money up for in the final week?  Our vendors are square - with the exception of a small balance on our limo which gets paid that day - what am I forgetting?!  I have the guest book, frames, card box, etc. - programs, directions, blah blah....I really think I'm good but I don't want to realize we forgot something simple!  AAHH!

  • I think you're forgetting to BREATH!!!! Just relax!! And remember if you can't control it, don't sweat it....there's no point in worrying about something you can't change =]
  • We handed out cash tips to our vendors that did a great job which was a few hundred dollars at last minute. Maybe food during the day of gettting ready? If you are getting ready with your wedding party, the drinks, food, etc? Bathroom baskets if you are doing them?
  • Don't forget about vendor tips

    - Share everyone's cell phone number with everyone else if they don't have it. A wedding day can be a bit stressful, so I made sure the BM & GM all had our cell #s along with each others

    - Wear your shoes outside to scuff them up a bit........that way they are less slippery.

    - If you are having a rehearsal dinner, verify everything.

    - If you and your fiance don't have a joint account, open one NOW. You will get checks made out to both of you and you will not be able to deposit them (at least our bank wouldn't do it, we had to open an account after the fact). Banks understand you will not have been able to change your name in advance, so the "Mr & Mrs Smith" checks will be signed with your new name, with no ID to back it up. But they won't allow one or the other to deposit into a separately named account.

    - If you haven't, write a nice note to the people around you who have supported you up to this point, parents, MOH, best man, siblings, etc. It makes you feel good to share the joy of your wedding with those closest to you. Also says "thanks in advance" for the things you know they will do right on your wedding day, when you are too busy to say anything.

    And most of all............BREATHE!!!!!

Sue, seriously....you rock.  I was at the bank today getting my final payment together - and they didn't even mention to me that this would be an issue - probably because I didn't ask!!  We are leaving for out of country HM on Monday after Saturday wedding - so we are banking on a few extra bucks from some cards - never dawned on me to get the joint thing going now - I will get that together ASAP!  Or at least discuss with my bank to see what their policy is!

The odds and ends - the bathroom baskets and such - I have everything like that - it's the little things - like scuffing the shoes, getting finances in order - that I'm trying to expand on and not get screwed the morning of!!

Thank you all so much.  Only 7 1/2 days to go now hahaha.
