Can't say yes to the dress!

I can't "say yes to the dress". I already have my ceremony and reception venue picked out. Now my other major issue is finding a dress. My wedding is next august so i guess i have a little time left. However, Every time I think that I've found a dress that I really love.. I go home look at the pics of the dress over and over pick it apart and suddenly it's not the dress for me anymore. I think that my real issue is I want to find a dress that I love and also a dress that makes my fiance tear up. I always wonder if my fiance will love the dress?? Is that weird?? Although he has already told me that he'll love anything I put on...b/c he said that i have great taste :. On the other hand...I just want something that we both like. But I'm sort of traditional so I wouldn't dare take him to the bridal salon with me.

Re: Can't say yes to the dress!

  • Your fiance will tear up!  I suggest stepping away for a bit and taking some time off of wedding dresses.  When you feel ready go back - but you have to be confident in your choice.  I read about all of these girls who buy a dress and then keep looking and have all kinds of regret...you need to pick a dress you love and stop looking.  There are always more dresses out there and you will drive yourself nuts if you keep trying to find a better one!  You're going to look gorgeous on your wedding day no matter what - so just pick a dress and rock it :)
Oh, and only take 1-2 people with you...any more and opinions start to get out of control!

  • I completely agree with aloisk, take a break for a little bit. I had a similar issue in that I was just having so much fun trying on dresses, I didn't want to comit to anything. Eventually I backed off for a little while, and there was one dress I couldn't stop thinking about -- I knew it was the one! Good luck, I know you will find the perfect dress that your FI will love!

  • I had this same problem. I went to a number of places and tried on a number of dresses, I loved a lot of the dresses I tried on but always felt like there was something better out there. I stepped away for a couple weeks and found my solution. Elizabeths in Northville-She had AMAZING dresses, everything was gorgeous and I hadn't see anything like that in other stores. I kept telling myself I wasn't going to have that moment, but I did. Just hold tight-You'll find the right one. (Especially if you go to Elizabeths-try to go on a less busy day too, you'll get more attention)
  • Thanks ladies for the helpful advice. I believe that you are all right...I'm definitely going to stop my search for about a month or so. Then I'll dive bk in thanks again!!! I will definitely check out Elizabeth's when I begin searching again :!!!
  • You are going to look gorgeous and your fiance will think so too!
