Lakeside Wedding

Hello,
I live in southeast MI and am looking for a lakeside resort,.. we want to be able to stay on the lake and get married there also,.. somewhere where all of our family can stay and we can have a big bonfire after the reception, we are going to make it a whole weekend thing,.. perhaps maybe somewhere that has cabins or condos,.. if anyone happens to know a good place to check out please let me know
Thanks

I know Waldenwoods has a normal reception area and then cottages as well so you could have a traditional reception and then an 'afterparty' by the water. http://www.waldenwoods.com/weddings/weddings.html

we are renting a lake house that sleeps like 17...but there are 3 houses in a row that are very similiar that are rentable.  They are on a bluff (quite large...still trying to figure out the logistics of me walking down the stairs to the ceremony)...but the beach is private.  Then we are having the reception in the backyard overlooking the beach.  We are only having 50 people.  I didnt see a place for a fire but I am buying those portable fire pits so we can have a fire there.  Let me know if you need any more info!!

You might want to check into areas around St Clair Michigan, St Clair Shores on Lake St Clair.

Your best bet is probably searching here:

    and here:

    for places near lakes.

    Good luck & welcome.

We looked at doing our wedding at the River Birch Lodge in Hartland.   Its very pretty and there are 7 bedrooms sleeps 18 people and 6.5 bathrooms.  I thought it was very pretty and if it wasnt a big deal to get married in a church I would of had my wedding there.
