NWR: Nasty Mood

I'm in a terrible mood today.  It's one of those where I know I'm being an a-hole, but I just can't seem to stop myself.  Have you ever had one of those days?  I keep telling myself that it's Friday and I should be in a *good* mood.

Any good tips?  I'd rather not go home acting like a raging jerk.  I know venting would help with some of it, but it's one of those things that I don't really want to tell people close to me and I'm surely not going to post it publicly.  Any ideas?

    Whenever I'm in a funk and want to feel better, I listen to music.

    I also keep a notebook in my desk at work and at home for when I need to write out my frustrations. That way, I can get it off my chest without having to talk to someone about it. Sometimes, you don't need the person you're venting with to give you advice and writing it down on paper works for me. When I'm done, I shred what I wrote and it goes in the trash.

    I know the feeling. I brought in brownies for everyone at work and I've eaten three because I'm just in a funk. I think it's the thought of working 10 hours on a saturday that has killed my mood.

    Ugh, I'm feeling that way, too, Melanie.  Wanna just vent and whine and sulk together???

    A good workout usually does it for me.  I have my gym bag in the car so I'm not tempted to go home first.  I'm gonna go there and let out all my steam.

    I second the music idea.  How far is your drive home?  That's usually how I get out all the frustration...just rock out in the car.  Have any good music you can jam to?  Even pandora at your desk might help.

    I find sometimes the bitter angry music I can sing along with helps, other times I just want the peppy upbeat make you happy music.  Just depends on the situation.

    I do what Jen does, but on Word when I'm at work. I just vent out whatever is ticking me off, then delete the document without saving it. It has the added benefit of making me look busy when all I'm doing is lurking on the internets and people leave me alone. :)

    Agree with the PPs.  Music can do a world of good.  Also listening to a funny comedian.  Humor will make you smile and smiling can change your internal mood. :)

    Wow! It must be something in the water b/c I am in a piss poor mood as well! I was saying to myself yesterday "gosh, you sure are in a bitc%y mood". I usually take a nap with my ipod on, or I write everything in my journal. I just want to go to a hotel and lock myself away for a day or two so I can just sleep with no interruptions!

    I think a lot of us are BLAH lately.  And I think we kinda pissed off a few newbies yesterday by complaining about all the wedding posts.  LOL
