Hair Salon Suggestions for Mixed Race Hair

I need Hair Professional suggestions for 2 of my bridesmaids because they are of mixed race and have thick, curly, and corse har.  They have never had their hair professionally done in a salon so they do not know where to go for updos.  We live in Westland, but the wedding is in Southgate, so anywhere in between is fine.  Thank you.

They have many options.  If their hair is similar to someone of Middle Eastern descent then they may want to try a salon that caters to that community.  There are also many African American stylists that have dealt with hair that is of various textures.  Then they also have to decide how far they are willing to drive.  I would probably refer them to JC Penneys salon in Dearborn, MI to start off.  It's a salon that has a large diversity of customers and though it's too far for me now I went there before and was quite pleased.  Here is their info.
