My flower lady canceled on me with 8 weeks till the wedding, Help!!!

I am sooo upset, I am not sure what to do... The women that was supposed to do my flower arrangements at my wedding was a friend of my fiances mother. She does this for a living, and also works for a florist as well. I met with her 6 months ago to discuss what I wanted and how many tables there was, things one normally discusses with their florist. I did ask her what the largest wedding she did by herself was, and she answered 300. My wedding is only 200 and she said that would be simple for her to do.
Yesterday I go to meet with her agian with my mom and my fiances mom (8 weeks till wedding), and she starts telling me how excited she is and how she can't wait to do the wedding and she gives me a laundry list of her ideas and what she is going to use. Then she says something to my fiances mom in Russian (they are Russian and I am not so I don't know what she said). His mom got a really funny look on her face and said, "OK". When we left she hugged me and told me how excited she was, then immedialty calls my fiance and tells him she can't do the wedding because it is too much for her, the largest wedding she has done was 150 (she lied to me to begin with obvi).
She was going to give us a good deal, and now I don't know what to do, if I have enough time to find a florist that wont take advantage of my desperate situation. I can't beleive she had the nerve to wait this long to tell us. What should I do?

Book someone else.

I'm using Christopher & Company in Walled Lake and I highly recommend them. Reach out on here and get as many ideas as possible. There's no use being upset about it, just fix it and move on.

So sorry you're going through this!

But yes, think of it like, better she told you now (even though its only 8 weeks away), then not showing up the day of your wedding, screwing up your flowers, or cancelling the day before. At least you have 2 months notice to find somebody new.

You can do it, my friend who just got married last month didn't even book a florist until 2 months before the wedding. Take a deep breath and start calling around.

) It'll all work out and prolly be even better than what you originally thought.

I used Michele Nonis, she was great, but may be booked (it's just her). If not, what about some place like Thrifty Florist or Viviano's?

If you have provided her with a deposit, get it back.

Can you, or anyone else, arrange flowers for the tables? I ordered bulk flowers from Costco (Sam's Club is also apparently a good source) and did my own arrangements.

I ordered the 20 piece white rose wedding package from Costco for our bouquets/bouts/corsages. They will swap out centerpieces for bouquets if you need more (comes with 3 BM bouquets and 3 centerpieces, you can get more bouquets, less centerpieces if you need to).

I've also seen excellent reviews for Michelle Nonis if she is available. If not, let us know and we can try to help you.

Vivianos flowers are absolutely beautiful, they book a lot of events too, so you might try them they might still have the date available.

Try Floral Expressions by Kathy in Farmington. I booked her at only 6 weeks out. They have been great to deal with. My wedding is this weekend so I can't yet speak to the flowers, but the pricing was reasonable.
