Help...

I'm looking for bridal shops. I don't really want to spend over $700 if I don't have to. I went to David's and liked 2. But that was the only time I went to look. I would like to try more on. P.S.  Im from the downriver area.

Also my wedding is in June 2012....the latest I should order my dress is...??

I just posted a huge story on facebook "wedding buzz" and how horrible the service was.
Listen, I went to davids bridal had the worst experience EVER...The prices at davids were almsot more expensive then the smaller boutqiue's I wentt too.
I HIGHLEY recommend (and its a little hike for you, but so worth it) A'dora Belle Bridal in Waterford...they are amazinga and the prices are REASONABLE!  BEAUTIFUL high quality dresses.
Also, In St. Clair Shores there is Bombshell Bridal. (i dont know what size you are, but the samples start at 12) Amazing, affordable, high quality merchandise...I bought my dress there last weekend and my wedding is in NOV 2011.
Im waiting until June to officially order my dress...but they say at the latest, give it 6-8 months.

I went to Nichole Michael's Salon at 22 and Schoenherr, I know it's a bit of a drive but worth it since they have beautiful dresses.  Mine only cost $450, and it's AMAZING! :o)  They were great to work with, very nice and accomodating. It's worth a try.  Good luck!

If you don't mind a drive...........
Alessandra's Bridal on Hoover just north of 12 Mile is great

I know a lot of brides got their dresses on the west side though, so you'll get more responses as well. Also, check the yellow push pin stickies at the top for ideas.

Ditto Sue. I bought my dress at Alessandras. There were tons of reasonably priced dresses. I told my consultant my price range and she stuck with it. The dress I chose was less than half of what I had budgeted. I'm not sure of the style that you're looking for, but take a look at long BM dresses in white/ivory. Some styles out there look just like a wedding gown (and at a fraction of the cost).

I went to Bella Bridal Gallery in West Bloomfield. They were very helpful. We told her our budget and she found tons of dresses for me to try on. When we would see one we liked that was more than our budget, she would find one just like it but cheaper by a different designer. :)

I also got my dress at Alessandra's in Warren.  I would recommend them to anyone.  I think they are great there.  GL to you!

I ordered my dress from Alessandra too!!

But I also tried on some dresses at Arena bridal on Van Dyke north of 23mile.  They have reasonably priced dresses and their bridal dresses include alterations.

I ordered mine from Allure Bridal in Livonia. I actually didn't try it on there, I tried it on at another place and just ordered it from Allure because it was half the price compared to the shop I tried my dress on at. It came in last week and they've been super nice. But, I was a pretty easy customer since I knew what I wanted and they just measured me and ordered the dress.

It was a long drive, but I reccomend Beckers' Bridal in Fowler (not Fowlerville). Totally worth  the drive. They had a huge selection and mine was $640. Wayyyyy cheaper than anything I found at Davids's, and the service was exceptional. I felt like the Davids' employeees were kinda pushy.

Thanks for all your help ladies!

@Floraall- Yes David's is pushy. They have called me 4 times since I went in. And I have told them every time Im not ready to buy a dress yet. I just wanted to look. Not only that but they gave my number out to people (vendors) and I think that is really unprofessional. I just want to go to a place, have help looking. And when I leave I don't want to be bothered.
