Dress came in! PIP...WWYD?

My dress came in today! It was like Christmas! So I ran to pick it up because I planned on getting alterations done elsewhere. I get there. They bring it down. I take it home and realize they ordered me a size smaller than I thought we discussed. So I try it on, and I actually got into it and I do love it. But, I really need an opinion outside my family because I don't know if they would tell me if I look like crap in it and/or a complete heffer. I realllly don't want to look stuffed into my dress. I don't know if I should just go find something off the rack. WWYD? Also, if it were you would you wear a crinoline underneath it?

Me with happy face because I looked scary.

This is a picture of the back bustled. We were trying to figure out the bustle ribbons that came with the dress. It is supposed to be a plain back bustle or a french bustle. I wish it would have came with instructions. Haha

I think it looks great on you!  I don't think you looked stuffed into the dress at all.  i love a lace up back and I think it's great that it's so visible!

I think it looks great. You definately need an A-line crinoline though to give the dress the correct shape at the bottom.

I think it looks great on you. It's a beautiful dress.

Because I haven't chosen any dresses with large skirts, I'm not the expert on crinolines. However, the stock pic you supplied shows how the dress is supposed to look I think. So yes, a crinoline should be under the dress. Once you have the crinoline underneath, and the dress is pressed, it will look the way it is supposed to.

Nor do I know how a bustle is supposed to look.

The great thing about lace up backs is that you can arrange the lacing to be the best fit for you. If you feel "stuffed" into the dress, loosen it up a bit for a more comfortable fit.

    Great choice.

I agree, I really think it looks just fine on you!  Dresses are supposed to be fitted, especially strapless ones.  You're going to look gorgeous!!!

I agree with PP and think it looks fine and doesn't look like you're "stuffed" in to it. I don't know that much about crinny's either, but the stock photo looks to be fuller, so adding this might also help.

One comment -- you look uncomfortable with the way that your arms are.  This is not a natural pose...do you feel OK with your arms at your sides?  Does the dress still look and feel OK when you are standing normal?

And you definitely need to take this up with the people who ordered your dress.  They owe you big time if they ordered the wrong size.  Either compensation or paying for alterations.

Thanks everyone!! I feel better about it. I'll def. be researching this whole crinoline thing, a.s.a.p. It does look like it needs something the more I look at it.

Julie- I think the arm thing is a mix of 2 things. 1. I'm the most awkward person ever. I tend to do cheesy things when I don't know what else to do. Hopefully I can look find a way to look graceful on the wedding day. 2. I have a larger bust that that picture does not make obvious, and I do feel like my chest is a little weird in the dress. So I think that was a little out of discomfort too. I am def. going to take it to an alterations person to see if they can fix it a bit.

I'm a little reluctant to say anything about the size because my mom's friend works at the dress store so I don't want to cause a big stink. It looks like the dress will end up working out(even better if I lose a few lbs). I'm a wuss. I know.

Totally missed the part about the wrong size dress being ordered..Friend or not, I would say something. If you feel uncomfortable, maybe your Mom could mention it to her friend?
