HELP! I need a venue that allows outside catering!

My FI and I were planning to get married next September. We already had a place picked out for the reception and we put a deposit down for our church (United Methodist Church in Ann Arbor). The venue isn't going to work out now which actually is okay because our family friends who own a restaurant offered to cater our wedding for little to no cost. Now the only problem is finding a venue that will allow outside catering. The restaurant is in Detroit and closing it down for our wedding isn't really an option. The date we picked is September 22nd 2012. We've both lived in Ann Arbor our whole lives and want to get married there so we'd prefer to find a area in the Ann Arbor area or as close to Ann Arbor as possible! If anyone knows anywhere please let me know! I realize we are sort of running out of time for a September 2012 wedding at this point since virtually all the spaces are already booked!

How many people are you planning on coming? What's your budget like, as far as renting the room?

We'd need answers to drewmw's question in order to help you. Some venues have max capacity.

If you are having less than 100 people, the venue we used would work, Greenmead Village in Livonia (8 Mile & Newburgh intersection, near I-275, not too far from Ann Arbor). If you go to my bio below, you can click on the vendor tab on the left for their link.

Otherwise, I'd recommend checking the yellow push pin post at the top for "vendors/prices/rating" of vendors. There may be some in there that show a venue separate from the caterer. Unfortunately some venues only allow their "preferred caterers" access.

Another alternative would be to pay for access to a public park, and pay for tents, chairs, tables and linens. You may have to do that anyway. If you have a great price on the caterer, then the cost of these rentals may not seem as bad. They can add up to $3000-$5000 however depending on the size of your guest list.

My budget is pretty high since all our food will be virtually free! Depending on where we can find we'd invite somewhere between 150 and 180 people!
