Metro Detroit flower vendors WORTH looking at

Hi all- I am looking to order a specialty flower for my wedding and wanted to see what thoughts or advise I can get.. the flower budget is cut a little due to the venue and simple is the way I am going.  Who do you all reccommend?  Looking forward to the input.. Thanks

A lot of people on this board like Linneae floral designs.  She is in Grand Rapids but serves all of Michigan.  She is independent, so a bit cheaper than the big shops.  If you are ordering an exotic flower, it may be a bit higher price, but she could also recommend flowers in your budget that have a similar look
  • I went with Dynamic Flowers in Royal Oak. They are a family run business and amazing to work with.

  • You might consider Costco or Sam's Club.  Prices are reasonable.  If you are not a member, there is a 5% charge.
  • Tammara Kane with Grand Jour Events does fabulous work for "pennies" of what florist do. I'd check her out, she delivers.

  • We went with Say it with flowers in Allen park. He stayed with in our budget with no problem!

  • Nicki Crosby from Lasting Touch did ours and she was fantastic.  She works out of her home, so prices are very reasonable.

  • Silk Thumb Florist in Wyandotte (we used real flowers for our centerpieces). They're happy to work with any budget, and they were so friendly! It was worth the drive (even if I did get lost on the way home because mapquest wasn't aware of construction during the summer, lol).

  • I second Tammara Kane!
  • You mention a "specialty flower"> what flower are you talking about?
It would help to know your budget and how many flowers you are looking to get. Are you talking tables and bouquets/bouts/corsages, or no table arrangements? What time of year?

We went the Costco route and were thoroughly happy. But it did take a bit of DIY on my part for the centerpieces.
  • I'm using April Irelynn Designs.  She works out of her home in Trenton.  I live in Royal Oak so the drive was a bit long, but so far she's definitely my favorite vendor.  VERY willing to work with me, my changing opinions, and strict budget.  She's doing a sample arrangement for me in about a month so I can see exactly what I'm getting.  :)

  • You should go see Natalie @ Mandel Greenhouse and Florist in Shelby Township. We told her everything we wanted and she was under our budget! She's very nice and prices can't be beat. Good luck!

We're going to go with Viviano Flower Shop. They have three locations: Chesterfield Twp., Shelby Twp., and Saint Clair Shores. I've always used Viviano for everything flower-related (prom, parties, etc.). Their flowers are fantastic.
