OMG...that is too funny!  We live in the Utica area.  We are getting married 11-19-2011.  Brian and I met back in September of 2007 and just got engaged around Easter.  Btw, my name is Cori.  Nice to meet you!

Nice to meet you Cori! My name is Susan! We live in Port Huron but are in the Utica area all the time.  Dave lived in St Clair Shores when we first met but then moved in with me.  We started dating June 29, 2008 and got engaged April 23.  Getting married July 3! How is your planning going?

Our planning is going good.  We have the church, our hall (Villa Penna) and our photographer booked so far.  I keep getting pressure from family members to go dress shopping but I'm not there yet.  I have quite a while before we are getting married, so I want to get some other things booked first.  Like the photobooth, DJ, etc.

How is your planning going?  Do you have your hall booked, ceremony location booked?  Do you have a photog yet?

Planning is going good.  Getting married at Wahby Park in St. Clair Shores, in front of Blossom Heath. Reception is at Barrister House.  DJ- Is the music butler, photog is The Camera Chick!  They are both so great!  Villa Penna is so nice!!   Honestly, I have been dreading dress shopping! Glad I am not the only one! However, over the 4th of July weekend I caved and told my mom and mother in law we can go.  So Thursday I am heading out!!!  Say a prayer for me !  I love that you are having a fall wedding! They are so pretty! I would have loved to, but I am a teacher so the summer is the best time!

I totally understand why you chose the Summer wedding.  My MOH is a teacher and she is so crazy busy all school year.  By the sounds of it, you probably are too.  My FMIL hasn't said anything about dress shopping but my mom and aunt (MOH) keep pushing me.  I too am dreading it.  Probably because I am a plus size bride...and part of it is I'm afraid to look at the prices.  I think I have an idea of what type of dress I want...but everyone says what you think you want and what actually looks good on you is most likely a totally different thing.  I actuallly wanted a summer wedding but FI didn't want to be dying of heat in a suit in the middle of summer.  Not that I can blame him because I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't want to try to cram myself into nylons and spanx and an extremely hot wedding dress in the middle of the summer.

Btw, I love chit chatting with you!  FI doesn't always want to hear and/or talk about WR stuff.  Thank God for the Knot!!!

I agree!!! I am happy we found eahother on here! I do realize how gay that shounds!  My email is susan underscore mannino at comcast dot net.  I wrote it all in words because it seems like that is what everyone else does on here so I assume theknot clears it out if you write it the other way! 

I am a "plus size" too! I am pretty sure that is why I am dreading it too! I don't want to go with a bunch of people (cause in my family that is the only way to do it) and they don't have any plus size dresses for me to try on!  But I finally decided Thursday is the day !  But my FMIL, mom and MOH are super excited so I guess I made someones day !  I will keep you posted on how it goes.  We are going to David's Bridal in Port Huron and then to a little Bridal Shop called Georgios. 

If you haven't booked a DJ yet you should look into The Music Butler.  He is wonderful and not expensive at all!  Have you found flowers or cake vendors yet?  THose are my next 2 big jobs!

Hey Susan...I just sent you an email from crhein26 at att dot net.  I look forward to talking to you lots about our weddings.  As my FI calls me, I am a bride in heat.    I love talking about weddings! 

P.S.  I was thinking I was sounding a little gay by saying that I love chatting with you!  Nice to know we are on the same level.
