Dinner for Two??

So I recieved a phone call tonight saying I won a free honeymoon, toasting flutes and wedding bands. FI and I have to sit through a 90 minute presentation and then we get the prizes. It's in Auburn Hills, which is quite a hike from Allen Park.

In my gut, it feels like a scam. But I've read positive reviews online and I'm tempted to check it out.

Have any of you gone to one of their shows? Is it worth it or should I just listen to my intuition and avoid the seminar tomorrow.

  • Royal Prestige does this all the time to people.  I'm sorry to ruin it, but everyone gets that prize.  Literally, everyone.  Any name they get they give this prize to in hope you'll buy their stuff.

The "honeymoon" is a cruise where you can pick several locations to go to but you have to pay for the airfare to get there, and the taxes of the cruise.  Any fees beyond the cruise you will also have to pay.  The flutes are a very low quality crystal that you can get for a few dollars at stores such as BB&B.  The bands, are actually a gift certificate for cheap bands and you can't use the certificate beyond anything on the very low end (mostly steel).

I should also say, I haven't personally been to any of their shows but I used to work for their parent company so I know what they do.

  • Darn. :( We were really excited for a minute thinking we could have had our honeymoon taken care of (well part of it at least). Should have known better though, it sounded too good to be true.

    Thanks for the warning! :)

  • It's a scam. They got my # and called all.the.time! They were rude when I asked to be taken off their calling list.
  • Yea..it's a scam. Luckily I googled it before I went! Sorry to bum you out!

  • I'm glad I asked on here and didn't drive an hour to realize it was a huge scam. I just Googled Royal Prestige and HOLY COW. So many negative reviews. No wonder they were calling themselves by a different name now.

We are saving every last dollar for our wedding, the last thing we need is to fall into a scam and give away hard-earned money for something ridiculous.

  • Thank you for asking this question. I got a call the other day from them, I didn't answer but they left me a message saying to call them back with a reference number.

  • Like MMRoberts said -- the cruise (or HM) is "free" but you pay for airfare, port fees, and government taxes. It's potentially cheaper than planning something yourself but imo, it's not ideal.
