Michigan-Detroit

Michigan

You know you're from Michigan when:

One year it snows in October, and one year its raining on Thanksgiving. ugh.

How many more can we add?

You know you live in michigan when you measure distance in minutes instead of miles

.... when you point to your right palm to show people where you grew up

..... when you have to include a road that has the word lake in it in any directions ( mainly oakland county)

..... when you have to use the air conditioning and the heat in the same day

When you have 7 Mile Rd, 8 Mile Rd, 9 Mile Rd, all the way up to the "20" Mile Rds..... and in some communities they change more than once (16 Mile Rd becomes Metro Parkway, Big Beaver, Quarton)... and you know which are which.

    - you say you are from "Detroit", just because it's easier than saying you are from other cities that no one ever heard of...

    - you know what UP and "fudgies" means....

    - you know to stay off I-75 the day before or last day of long holiday weekends.....

    - you know what a pasty is, and that it's pronounced differently than the things strippers wear on their boobs.....

    - someone in your family worked for, and probably retired from, one of the Big Three......

    - the first warm day in the spring, usually in March, makes you wear shorts and flip flops....just because you can for a day.....
