Bartending?!? WTh.

Does anyone know what the deal is with bartenders at wedding is? Does anyone have any bartending services?!? I sorta feel its silly to get a bartender since there are only a hundred close guests... Has anyone run into this problem before?!?

  • I'm not sure what your question is. Are you debating on hiring a bartender for your 100 person wedding? If so than I would say yes do it. It will keep control of all the alcohol and make it seem more formal than everyone just grabbing there own drinks.

  • Like the prior poster, I'm confused on what your question is.Without additional information, it's hard to guess what you are asking.

Are you having your reception at a place that does NOT offer bartending services? Most reception venues do offer this, but if you are using a "bare bones" reception venue, and have to bring in your own food & alcohol, then yes, you may have to hire one.

We had a bare bones venue, had to supply our own food, alcohol, and workers. Our DJ happened to offer bartending services in his packages, but all don't.

We had 83 people and needed a bartender. Bartenders have the required independent responsibiity to not serve to minors, or to inebriated individuals. They also have the proper insurance if God forbid, someone from your wedding has an auto accident afterward and insurance is required. It may not be your guests that sue you or the venue, it may be the other party who is injured or killed.

Get a bartender or you risk making the happiest day of your life your worst nightmare.
  • I'm using Great Lakes Party Professionals for my bartending needs. The prices are quite reasonable and I needed a way to properly serve the alcohol my venue allows us to bring in.

I met with the owner and he was incredibly nice. They have a lot more services they offer as well. We're also getting waitstaff from him and a bar back.
