Ceremony site- help needed.

Ok.So.. we booked Arnaldos today! Yay! Now we just need a ceremony site.

We want to between Monroe (where we live) and Riverview (where Arnaldos is). I looked at The Little Wedding Chapel in Taylor. I was able to talk them down to $950- but that is honestly more than I wanted to spend on a small ceremony. I also looked at The Wedding Chapel on the Green... they are more in my price range, but it looks SO tiny in there, even though it seats 80 people, the aisleway is not long, at all, but it is only $400.

We always have our chuch to fall back on. My only fear is its going to look very empty in there since its a big church, not many people go to ceremonies, I have been told. And my FI doesnt want a full catholic wedding.

Does anyone have any other ideas or options I can look at? I would prefer not to spend over $600 for a site, and, it has to be inside. Our wedding is 4/28/12, and I do not want to take the chance being outside.

The ceremony at CG is $650, and you are able to have the ceremony there even if you aren't having your reception there. I have been to several ceremonies at their chapel and none of them had the reception there. You may also want to check out the Trenton Church of Christ. I think they are only about $450.

If you want something unique, you can look into renting out the Trenton Community Theater.  It's an old movie theater that has been converted into a live stage theater, and has a pretty cool feel.  It is big, yeah, so I don't know if that wouldn't be what you are looking for because of the empty feeling you are trying avoid, but my wedding is small and I plan on using it (just can't really pick a timeline yet because of FI's military obligations).  It's not that expensive either, from what I hear.

It's on West Jefferson close to where West Road dead ends, and the area of downtown Trenton is pretty cute.  Plus less than 2 minutes up the road is Elizabeth Park which might be good for pictures.  It's not that far from Arnaldo's, either... maybe 10 minutes tops.

Depending on how many people you are having, Arnoldo's does rent out their lobby for ceremonies.  The spiral staircase is beautiful.  But, they can only hold 88 people in the lobby.

I don't know where you've been told that not many people go to ceremonies, but I have never seen or experienced that.  I suppose if you had a lengthy (3+ hour) gap, people might skip the ceremony, but I have always been to VERY full ceremonies.  I've never skipped a ceremony, and for our wedding more people skipped the reception than the ceremony.
