Good Morning-

The three I had in mind were A Breath of Srping, Michelle Nonis and Bellesario's.
I did go the the sticky on the top but still feel a bit frustrated.
Any thoughs- good or bad would be great.
Thanks!

Re: someone was reading my mind this morning!

  • I am reading your mind this morning. :)I worked with Bellisario's and actually just came to post my vendor reviews :)

Anyway, I met with Ralph in his Birmingham office and had a nice first meeting.  He was great in helping me figure out how to decorate the room with a common look/feel. I was a pretty simple bride and didn't want extravagant floral arrangements.  I got the sense he was disappointed by that....and after seeing some of the arrangements he was working on a few months later I can see why. They can do some realy over-the-top arrangements.

Anyway, my communication between the first meeting and then my final meeting was a bit difficult.  Every time I called to ask about pricing for linens or charger plates, I talked with a different person.  It was hard to get a straight answer on things.  It was really frustrating.  I hired a wedding planner halfway through and had her manage all communications with them.  My linen business went somewhere else.

Then we had the final meeting with Ralph and my wedding planner.  It was pleasant.  We changed a few things on my order and I asked for the final bill.  They said it would email it to me the next day.....it took a couple of weeks.  The day before the wedding I finall called to confirm what I should pay, and the price had gone up by a couple hundred dollars and the lady on the phone could not tell me why.  I sent in a check to them a month after the wedding... they never really formally "billed" me.

The flowers turned out great and were very well cared for.  They integrated some dried flowers I had provided into the arrangements and also were willing to use some vases I wanted on the tables.  (You do have to return their vases...they will come pick them up the next day.)  Everything arrived on time, in the right quantity, and they placed all of the arrangemens in the right spots.

Summary: The flowers were AWESOME...I was very pleased with that and the overall set up of the room.  They were consistently polite but scattered in their communication, but somehow everything ended up perfect in the end.

  • My florist is Michele Nonis. She's the only one I met with, so I can't say if her prices are unbeatable, but they certainly SEEM reasonable. I'm paying about $1400 for 7 BM bouquets, my bouquet, 7 GM bouts, 20 centerpieces, and three others for the head table, and then a handful of other TBD corsages and bouts for family/readers.

I've only met her once, but also communicated via e-mail. She's very nice, but calls me "honey" a lot and that makes me cranky. She also definitely has opinions -- she'll tell you if something won't look good -- which also made me cranky but I realize that in the end it'll only help you.

She's not super responsive via e-mail. Takes her several days, but she did warn me about that up front so, so far, I've liked her.

  • Does anyone have recent/current photos of Michelle Nonis' work? I have seen some photos, but they were from 2009 and 2010. Also, all of the photos I saw seemed to have the same type of small centerpiece. I'm wondering how versatile her work is.

Any additional information would be great.

    Thanks in advance!
