Detroit Catholic Churches

Anyone get married in a catholic church in Detroit?  Looking for suggestions for a beautiful church in the area and possible feedback for those of you who have already had a ceremony there.

Re: Detroit Catholic Churches

  • We're getting married at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament off Woodward in Detroit. I've been to several weddings there, it's beautiful. I definitely suggest checking it out. http://www.bscweddings.com/

  • We were married at St. Aloysius Church. It's about a block away from the new Westin. We are members, but you don't have to be. That church has the same pastor as St. Patrick's, which is in midtown behind the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.

I believe non-members can also get married at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, which is downtown, on Jefferson, across from the Ren Cen. When I looked, it looked like their fee was $1,000. St. Al's had a $500 fee.

We love St. Al's because we're members, but you definitely have to be pro-active with them on scheduling. They're a small church without a large staff so our wedding was not a priority until the last minute.

Had time to check out this church today! Loved it! Only downfall for me was the fountain right at the end of the aisle...it seems odd to have to walk around it right went your entering?(for the bride)
