Need a good hotel near my Downriver reception

I am having my ceremony at a church in Allen Park, and then we're having our reception at Silver Shores Waterfront in Wyandotte. I have just a handful of guests coming from out of town. Should I reserve a block of rooms somewhere? If so, what hotels are near Downriver that are nice? I do not want to force them to stay at someplace crappy. Any and all ideas are appreciated.

  • There is a really nice Holiday Inn, in southgate on Northline.

  • My sister also got married in AP, and had her reception ay Silver Shores. She used the Holiday Inn in also. The rooms were nice and the hotel has a shuttle you can rent. It was really convenient, and an added bonus is that the Holiday Inn has a bar for your guests to afterparty!
  • Thanks guys. I have stayed in that Holiday Inn before and it's okay. I wish there were some nicer hotels downriver, but it just isn't so. Has anybody been to Comfort Suites in Southgate? I wonder if it's decent.

  • I would look in dearborn. If you want to go really nice (and pretty pricey), the Dearborn Inn is gorgeous.
