Has anyone looked into the Roberts Riverwalk Hotel of Detroit?

I'm looking for a resonable reception venue in downtown detroit. I came across The Robert Riverwalk hotel on the knot. I'm just wondering if anyone has every been there for an event before??

Pretty sure it used to be the Omni. I haven't been inside it and don't hear much about it, and I live downtown. I'd still check it out though, it's a great location.

</font>I got engaged in January and put a $1000 deposit down for my reception there in early February. After that, it would take WEEKS for them to respond to emails, phone calls, and the one meeting we had there, we waited an HOUR before we were seen (and we even had an appointment). They are VERY unprofessional, unorganized, and they have no idea how to run this business. We requested our deposit back and we have been waiting for a response for months-they keep claiming to be calling corporate but clearly they are not. We had even decided that if they dont' refund us, we would just have our rehearsal dinner there, so at least we're not just walking away from $1000, and we can't even reach anyone to discuss that possibility. When we finally received a proposal from them, they had all these extra charges that are not detailed in their wedding information packet. I am at the end of my rope with them. I can promise you, that if you chose them, you will be VERY sorry. We are now having our reception elsewhere and the service there is 1000x better. Hopefully, after a few interactions with them, you will see this is not the place to do thousands of dollars of business with. <font color="#ff0000">DON"T DO IT GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
