Lafayette Grande

Was wondering if anyone has held their wedding or is holding their wedding at the Lafayette Grande in Pontiac, Michigan. How is the food/service venue? Thanks so much for your help!!

My friend held her wedding there and the food was very good.

The only bad thing is the parking lot is like grass and gravel and very dark in a bad neighborhood which made everyone nervous when they left.

But overall a very nice place.

This. Unfortunately, our car was broken into while we were at a wedding there. They had security but the lighting was bad and apparently the security wasn't very attentive.

I've also heard it's in a really bad area & of people's cars being broken into during the wedding.

I went to a wedding there about 8 years ago. I know things may have changed over time, but eight years ago it was still a bad neighborhood. IMO nothing there really impressed me. The decor was dated and there was a faint smell of something...but I couldn't put my finger on it, plus the lighting seemed to be too dark. Also the food wasn't that great. To me it was like they served me leftovers.

I agree with the first post I liked the food but walking in the parking lot in heels not so much plus we had to park across the street.

I just had my Reception there March 26, and it was fantastic!  I got so many compliments and everyone was so impressed with the venue.  People just kept pulling me aside asking about how i found the place.  It really is a beautiful venue, and the family that owns it were wonderful to work with.
We did not have any problems with crime or anything else, but i truely believe it happens everywhere.  I work for a police dept in a very highend part of Oakland Co and we probably get at least 5 vehs a day that get broken into.  And most of the time if the victim ddnt leave things in plain sight, it wouldn't have happened to them.
So while the location is not often thought of as nice, the venue makes up for it with their food, prices and friendliness.

After its all said and done, i wouldn't have had my reception anywhere else.
