Tell Us Tuesday!

How long was your commute to and from work or wherever you had to be yesterday?

If you didn't have to go to work/school, what did you do instead?

It took me an hour and 15 minutes to get to work yesterday. I got there RIGHT on time!

I had a 2 hour drive home! Frown

Needless to say, I was irritated by the time I got home and acted like a brat to FI. Cry

It took me an extra 10 minutes to get to work in the morning; we also left early, too.

The drive home however, took me an hour to get from Beck & West to Pontiac Trail and Milford Road.

On my way home from my sisters late last night, some lovely person left their car just sitting on a street that only had one lane going westbound; with no lights on. The car was dark charcoal gray and you could barely see it in the dark. I nearly hit it until I saw that it was a car.

It took me an hour and 45 minutes when it normally takes me max 30 minutes.  Was about 30 minutes late to work but everyone else was too so I didn't feel too bad.

I drove out to my parent's house to take my sister out to lunch for her birthday.  It usually takes me a half hour or so and yesterday it took me closer to an hour.  Same length of time approximately on the way back, except that I also stopped in at Target.

I would have loved to be out and about more since I had nothing better to do, but I just couldn't bear the roads anymore!  So I had a very boring night at home while FI played video games.  Sigh.

The commute to and from work wasn't bad.  You can all hate me now.  It generally takes me 15 mins to work and 25 minutes from work.  And I have to say it took the same yesterday, thankfully.  I think Madison Heights was the only city that realized we were getting snow because the roads were mostly clear.

The bad part though is my car has issues with the doors freezing shut.  I mean I could break the handle off before it will open.  This is an issue for it during the winter for some reason.  It took me 20 minutes and several trips for hot water to get the door to open in the morning.  And it froze shut while I was at work so I had to make a trip for hot water again!  Usually, if it is frozen in the morning I pour a little hot water and its fine for the day.  Chris has been warned that if this happens again he will need to find a place for his 67 Corvair other than our garage because it was extremely frustrating.  I think his solution was to start my car from now on in the morning.

My commute usually takes 30 minutes. I gave myself an extra hour. I ended up getting pulled into customs (crossing from Windsor to Allen Park) but got to work 30 minutes early.  The drive down 75-South was fine!

My windows were frozen shut so I had to open my door going through customs to speak with the border guard-he didn't know what I was doing and freaked out!  Awesome way to start my day :)
