Vent: RSVP's

So one week from now is our RSVP deadline.  I mailed out 65 invitations.  As of checking the mail today, I have just 31 response cards back.  That's less than HALF!  OMG, I better be getting a bunch next week or I am going to be stuck making a LOT of phone calls!

you'll get a few the last week, but you'll unfortunately have to be making calls. wait a day or two after the deadline (you'll def get some). 

I was turbo pissed that people couldn't at least drop me a line to tell me it was in the mail. i waited until i cooled down enough to make the calls. Most people were apologetic about it. People are busy. But there will inevitably be people you have to call like 3 times just to get a no.

I did a lot of FBing. it was easier and people responded quickly. (and srsly if they cant send in a pre-stamped card, why should you go out of your way to be super polite and call them? it's too time consuming.)

i know how you feel.  today is my rsvp deadline and i'm still waiting on over 100 responses.  i get that people are busy, but honestly, how much time does it really take to write your name on a card, choose chicken or beef, stick it in a pre-addressed, stamped envelope, and throw it in your mailbox?  All of maybe 45 seconds. 
And I will also be facebooking as many people as I can.  If they can't show me the courtesy of sending back an RSVP, then etiquette be damned.  And I'm a stickler for etiquette.
The way I see it, yeah it's a little annoying, but at the same time, you're going to have a great party no matter who does or doesn't show up.  So I'm not stressing about it too much...as long as the day doesn't come and all of those 100 or so people show up unexpectedly...eek.

What kills me is that I sent out save the dates!  They've had 5 months now to think about whether or not they can/want to attend!!!  Check a box and drop it in the mail already!

I definitely got a bunch back the last week and even a few more after the deadline.

But yea - we had to make some calls/emails. I don't think its totally rude to FB someone  - its not like you sent the invite via facebook lol.  I had to FB a few people too otherwise I would've never got an answer.

Its frustrating, give the FI's side to him to deal with and that will help!

Sorry, love.  Brian is waiting to get his schedule for July.  I'm truly not trying to be one of the deadbeat responders.

at least they had five months!I just got my cousin's invite a month before the wedding and they want an e-mail in a week... late much?

Girl, you and me are getting married the same day, dead line is approaching for us too, and we are still waiting for half too!!!!  We invited 225 people, as of today only 110 are coming including the bridal party and close family!!!!! Its stresssful!!!!
