Just found out my bridal shop is closing, need some help...

I just got a call from the bridal shop where my dress is and they told me that they are closing on Jan. 31st and I need to pick up my dress by then. I have had no fittings or alterations done yet because my wedding isn't until June 24th 2011 and I have not paid the whole dress off yet.

Can anyone please reccomend a good/affordable place where I can take it after I pick it up to get fittings and alterations done at?
 
I live in Farmington and my parents who will be holding on to the dress for me live in Commerce Township so I could use suggestions around one of those two areas. Thank you so much!

What is the name of the bridal shop? It may help other brides so they know to stay away from there. At any rate, I highly recommend Mary in Garden City. I know it's kind of a drive from Farmington, but she does amazing work and her prices are fairly decent. E-mail me if you would like her number. cnpouch at gmail dot com

Michelle at The Wedding Shoppe off Woodward Ave in Berkley has gotten some pretty rave reviews.  I called to get some prices, she was so helpful and knowledgable, I booked my alterations with her on the spot!

My fitting is Jan 11, I'll let you know how it goes!

Thanks ladies! The bridal shop is Laura Lynn's Bridal in Waterford. I'll look into your suggestions as soon as I can get my dress. I thought I would be ok there since they have been in business for 30yrs and I know girls who have gotten there dresses there:(

yikes my bff got her wedding dress there - what a bummer.  They did a really good job!

I used a person out of her home (let me know if you want her contact info). She was located on Elizabeth Lake and Teggerdine area (White Lake). It was supper cheap, she was supper fast and she did a really great job.

  Hi:  If you have not found someone to do your alterations, please try Un lALmour Bridal in Roseville, MI.  All alterations are done in house by highly skilled seamstresses.  They will store your dress for you till the wedding, and they will also steam the dress after the alterations are done.  Their number is 586-293-6809They are located at 30615 Gratiot, south of  13 Mile Road in Roseville.
