Help! In need of indoor Engagement photo venue

Hi everyone!! I made the mistake of procrastinating on my engagement photo shoot and now it is freezing here in the Mitten! Does anyone have any good ideas for an indoor place to take engagement photos??

The DIA. You may be able to just walk in -- or you can find their PR person's contact information on the website and e-mail to ask permission. I used to do it for work and they were fairly accommodating. You couldn't take photos everywhere, but you could in the Rivera Court, etc.

Other spots include The Detroit Public Library (if you're into books), The Renaissance Center (if you're into a modern/geometric look...or cars), and maybe The Henry Ford or Cranbrook (don't know if they have cute indoor areas).

You could also do local restaurants/bars with character in some of the downtown areas (Ferndale, RO, B-ham, Rochester). Places like Mr. B's and other pool halls could be a fun backdrop.

We did downtown Bham outdoors but we shot indoors at TOAST. My sister in law did hers outdoors when it was cold. They looked cute in their coats and scarves. Lastly, you could ask your venue. I'm getting married at Colony Club and I think it would've been cute to shoot there.

    Good luck!

What do you guys like? If you like sports, go to a sports bar and get pics there. Ford Field is open on non-game days (it used to be). The Fisher Theater has a gorgeous lobby/concourse. The glass enclosed atrium at the RenCen (called Wintergarden), plus the atrium of the Compuware Building has a fountain. Hard Rock Cafe has a cool stained glass window inside of Motown artists.

I agree with Sue n Kevin, think of things you guys like to do... BUT WAIT what about a snowy engagement photo?! Sooooo  amazing when they are done, think of you in a cute hate dodging snowballs, how about a fuzzy blanket  wrapping you to up.... just look at these ideas!
